Our previous seasons are also available here: Phases of the Moon Knight covered the Moon Knight character in comics and TV, and our MCU Review saw us comparing the Phase 1 thru Phase 4 Marvel Cinematic Universe films with the comics that inspired them. Episode 18 - Moon Knight Update
Can it already have been 6 months since we closed out our Phases of the Moon Knight podcast? With the Disney+ series complete and our review of Moon Knight’s comic history complete through the last published issue of the current run, we set the character aside for a it and moved on to the wider MCU. Neither Duane nor I wanted to leave him completely behind, though, so we promised that we’d occasionally return to Marc Spector and his friends. Since then, Moon Knight has been very busy in the comics world, and we are going to spend this week catching up on his recent print adventures, as well as visiting a bit about the status of the character in the MCU.

After years of standalone movies and origin stories, in 2012 Marvel finally delivered on the epic superhero team-up movie that it had been teasing and promising ever since the very first MCU after scene in Iron Man. This week we are looking at The Avengers, where the MCU finally lived up to its promise as a live-action counterpart to the interconnected and continuity heavy Marvel comics that the films are based on.

Episode 16 - She Hulk: Attorney at Law Show Review
Way back in episode 7 we took a look at a number of classic She-Hulk comic runs, and this week we finally return to the world of Disney+, where for the last couple of months we have been treated to the slightly off-center world of She-Hulk: Attorney at Law. The first season of She-Hulk wrapped up last week, and so now it is time to see what we thought, and how the comics did or did not prepare us for the show!

Episode 14 - Persons of Mass Destruction
We are back in the stacks this week, opening up a Marvel “Maxi-Series” from the turn of the century. Published less than a year after the World Trade Center bombings, Marvel’s Ultimates is a series that combines raw political commentary with photorealistic and cinematic visuals. If you were a fan back in 2002 this was a completely new look for the Avengers, but fans of the MCU might feel right at home.

Wednesday Sep 21, 2022
Episode 12 - Politics and Punching!
This week we look at the subject of the last solo movie that Marvel put out as they built toward the Avengers and the end of “Phase 1” of the MCU. Captain America debuted in Timely comics way back in 1940, and has had a long and twisting history in the Marvel Universe. We prep for the movie by taking a look at that classic debut issue and a number of other classic Cap stories, as well as the books that introduced Nick Fury and his Howlin’ Commandos.

COMICS OVER TIME
Comics Over Time is a weekly podcast where our hosts Dan and Duane read important and interesting comic books that provided characters and story ideas for movies or TV. Then we'll watch how those stories were translated to the big (or small) screen.
We have a lot of great comics, movies and TV shows lined up to share with you. Whether you are a long-time fan of comic books and comic book movies, or are just getting started, we invite you to join us as we look back at the history of these characters and their stories, as well as attempt to connect the dots from comic panels to moving pictures.
